Unbuild It | Episode 167: Tricky but Cool Assemblies: Vented Over-Roofs & Double-Stud Walls
Venting the top side of a roof assembly--particularly with a standing seam metal roof--involves quite a few decisions: depth of vent space, types of furring (criss-cross vs. 45 degree angle) or spacer mesh, roofing underlayments for both the structural sheathing and the nailbase sheathing. And for standing seam metal roofs, there is the added factor night sky radiation. The boys duke it out on this one.
On to double-stud wall assemblies. There is the relentless comparison of double stud walls to either Huber ZIP-R or mineral wool XCI. Now that gets the blood boiling! When all is said and done: there are pros and cons to ANY building system. It's all about constructability, cost, climate, and familiarity with the trades!

NOTE: Huber stands by their install of ZIP tape down to 0 degrees F. But you better bring your A-game when it is that cold. Make sure that everything is really clean and dry (no frost) and apply both a ton of pressure and maybe a hair dryer for the bond!
