Unbuild It | Episode 165: Confusing the cost and value of building science-based, better-performing homes
Steve and Jake tackle the overall topics of affordable high-performance homes and delivering value based on building science. Granted: both Steve and Jake design and build an awful lot for clients who make way more money than either of them or all of "us." But don't confuse the context of their custom homebuilding projects with the performance benefits that any builder or architect can deliver in any price range and with a modest overall increase in cost.
WARNING: Without the social-media-clueless Pete on board, Jake encourages Steve to ramp up on all the feedback they get on their "exclusive" work with "1%-er" clients and unconstrained luxury budgets. The language gets a bit dicey or spicy.
