In Texas, a crawlspace or basement are a pretty rare occurrence. Most foundation assemblies target concrete slabs. In our Passive House 1.5 Project in Houston we set out to build a conditioned crawlspace. Like a full height basement, groundwater can pose a problem in the building’s future if not solved for in the design. In this video we take a look at the Exterior of the foundation assembly and review the decisions that have set us up for long term success.
