CJ Nielsen walks through his approach to wiring residential remodels, focusing on the use of service loops with non-metallic sheathed cable (commonly known as Romex). Filmed during a whole-house renovation and kitchen remodel, CJ explains how his team at CNC Electric intentionally leaves extra slack in wiring runs to allow for future adjustments when design changes inevitably occur. Rather than viewing service loops as a repair strategy, he frames them as a practical way to accommodate shifting cabinet layouts, fixture locations, and evolving project details without major rework. He also discusses box-entry methods, wiring flexibility, and the tradeoffs between material costs and long-term adaptability in residential electrical installations.
