Home Why Mentorship Matters

Why Mentorship Matters

North Iowa Area Community College welcomed students, mentors, builders, contractors, and industry partners for an inspiring day focused on the future of the skilled trades.

This event brings together students and professionals from across the industry to learn, collaborate, and gain valuable real-world experience. Through partnerships with contractors, manufacturers, educators, and community leaders, students are exposed to career paths that strengthen both their futures and the communities they serve.

NIACC continues to expand career and technical education opportunities throughout North Iowa, with programs serving students in Mason City, Forest City, Charles City, and future locations. These initiatives help address workforce needs while supporting economic growth and housing development in rural communities.

A special thank you to Gregg, the mentors, sponsors, industry partners, and all of the students who participated. Events like this demonstrate what can happen when education and industry work together toward a common goal.

Highlights:

  • Opening remarks from NIACC President Joel Henderson
  • Recognition of industry mentor Gregg and supporting partners
  • Collaboration between students, contractors, and sponsors
  • Career and technical education opportunities across North Iowa
  • Focus on workforce development and future housing initiatives
  • Building stronger communities through skilled trades education
