Lydia Crowder compares paper, FibaFuse, and mesh drywall tape after applying each with Easy Sand hot mud. She finds that paper tape maintains a strong bond, while FibaFuse performs well but raises questions about long-term strength and use in corners. Mesh tape pulls away easily and, in her experience, is more prone to cracking, particularly on seams and butt joints. Crowder explains that paper tape remains her preferred option because of its strength, durability, and proven performance when installed correctly. She also discusses where thinner FibaFuse can be useful and why mesh tape has largely fallen out of her regular drywall work.
