What It Takes to Wire a Home Elevator (From an Electrician's POV)

CJ Nielsen walks through the electrical requirements for a residential elevator installation on a multi-level home remodel. The homeowners chose a traction elevator — an increasingly popular alternative to hydraulic systems — primarily for long-term accessibility planning. From an electrician's perspective, the scope is straightforward: a dedicated 30-amp circuit for the motor, a 20-amp circuit for the controls, and a network connection for the call buttons. The elevator company handles everything else, including the control panel and rail system, once finishes are complete. CJ also touches on the value of consolidating mechanical and AV infrastructure into a single intentional location during the rough-in phase.
