What Goes In To MOVING A TOWER CRANE?!
Today we’re moving our self-erecting crane from one project to the next—and filming every step. From dropping the tower and pulling counterweights to hauling, site access challenges, and setting back up, this is the real-life process we use between jobs.
You’ll see:
- How we stage the trailer and deal with limiter sensors
- Removing/loading counterweights safely
- Swapping rigging and protecting ropes before folding the jib
- Transporting the crane and generator to the next site
- Tight-access positioning (steering with the crane rotation)
- Why the crane has been a huge labor saver for our framing workflow
- The main downside: move-day time/cost and how we mitigate it
