We Built A House Out Of WHAT??!
We’re kicking off a unique rebuild project in Boulder, Colorado — one of the homes lost in the Marshall Fire. Instead of traditional framing, this custom home is being built with SIPs (Structural Insulated Panels).
In this episode, we:
- Set double LVLs in concrete beam pockets
- Frame the basement floor and stairwell
- Install ledgers, joists, and Titan bolts
- Snap lines and square walls with the 3-4-5 method
- Begin installing SIPs wall and roof panels
This is the first residential home of its kind built with this system — combining insulation, structure, and exterior finish into one panel. The result? Massive time savings, reduced costs, and incredible energy efficiency.
👉 Stick around to see what it’s like building with SIPs, the challenges we faced, and why this might be the future of residential construction.
