The Venus Barndominium Home Tour | 1,500 Sq Ft 3 Bed/2 Bath | Texas Best Construction

This 1,500-square-foot living space (1,560 total square feet) barndominium features a highly efficient 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom layout that serves as a perfect masterclass in maximizing footprint without sacrificing high-end style. Located in Venus, Texas, this build—officially known as the "Cowboy Nook"—showcases exactly what can be accomplished when thoughtful design meets quality craftsmanship.

The exterior makes a striking first impression with clean white PBR-style panels on the walls and roof, accented by sharp brown trim for a classic, timeless look. Decorative shutters stained in rich Dark Walnut add warmth and visual interest, breaking up the white exterior. A unique custom touch is the brick wainscoting at the front entry, doubling as a built-in planter box for personalized landscaping and instant curb appeal.

Inside, the space has been carefully designed for both beauty and function. The kitchen remains the heart of this TBC build, featuring a full-size Whirlpool appliance package—including a stainless steel refrigerator, microwave, stove, and dishwasher. Pure White cabinets paired with Sherwin Williams "Reposed Gray" walls create a soft, modern backdrop, while the "Peppercorn" accent island provides a deep, moody contrast and maximizes storage with varied drawer sizes, including deep drawers for large pots and pans. Countertops are Level 1 Quartz in bright white with gray veining, carried into the window sill above the farmhouse sink.

Lighting emphasizes style and cohesion, with three matte black bell-shaped pendant lights matching cabinet hardware and plumbing fixtures. A corner pantry provides extensive shelving and a dedicated power outlet for small appliances. The kitchen is separated from the living area by a full refrigerator cabinet, acting as a natural room divider while maintaining an open-concept feel.

In the private areas, the guest bathroom features a 4-foot vanity with matching quartz counters and a full-tiled tub-shower combo with a recessed soap box. The master suite is a generous 15x12 retreat, finished with plush gray carpet for a warm, cozy atmosphere.

The "Cowboy Nook" plan is available at bestbarnedoplans.com and is fully customizable. Options include adding a garage, expanding the porch, or modifying the layout. Upcoming discussions will cover "Rapid Post Frame" options for this plan and others.
