Located within the building envelope, the space provides easy access to the mechanical systems that keep the home comfortable while maintaining a controlled temperature. The assembly combines substantial insulation with an insulated over-roof, while equipment includes a dedicated dehumidifier, ERV, and mini-split air handler. Travis also points out the practical benefits of making filters, traps, and other serviceable components accessible to both homeowners and contractors without sacrificing usable living space.
