Replacing The Stairs In My Abandoned House (Ep 7)
Day 7 of renovating my abandoned house, and today was a BIG one. We finally got to rebuild the entire stair system, fix more of the plumbing, clean up the basement framing, and even prep for tomorrow’s HVAC material pickup.
This house has been a disaster from day one — busted siding, missing windows, broken hose bibs, hacked-up plumbing, sketchy old stairs, and surprises behind every wall. But progress is progress, and today was one of our best days yet.
In this episode:
- ✔ Removing the old staircase (with way too many surprises)
- ✔ Building and fitting the new stair stringers
- ✔ Installing risers & treads the right way
- ✔ SharkBite ProLok plumbing repairs
- ✔ Splicing PEX + creating a clean service loop
- ✔ Fixing broken hose spigots
- ✔ Cleaning up the remaining basement framing
- ✔ Prepping the skid steer & trailer for tomorrow’s HVAC run
Huge thanks to Troy for being here every day helping me pull this house back together. Couldn’t do it without the homies.
If you’re new here — I bought a foreclosed home that was basically abandoned for years. I’m renovating the entire house by myself and with friends, documenting the whole journey, and showing every step along the way.
