Rapid Post Frame Barndominium Progress Tour | Zip System Sheathing & Stone Exterior

This Texas post frame barndominium is an absolute showpiece in the making — a perfect blend of craftsmanship, innovation, and good old-fashioned hard work.

Located in Blum, Texas, this build shows what’s possible when modern building systems meet the timeless barndominium style.

We’re walking through one of our most exciting projects yet — a massive 7,000+ square foot structure featuring:

  • 3,600 sq ft of living space
  • 1,500 sq ft of porch area
  • 1,800 sq ft detached shop connected by a breezeway

From the outside in, this home is being built to last and designed to impress.

This post frame barndominium is part of our Rapid Frame series, allowing for faster construction while maintaining strength and performance comparable to hybrid steel or conventional builds.

The Zip System sheathing wraps the structure, creating a tight building envelope that improves durability and energy efficiency—making a big impact on long-term comfort and cost savings.

Our team has also been focused on masonry details. The custom stone exterior ties everything together, with craftsmanship that stands out—from smooth luder finishes to perfectly sloped water table caps.

Inside, the open-concept layout features tall ceilings, large windows, and plenty of room for family living, entertaining, or working from home.

The main living area flows into a bright kitchen and dining space designed to feel open, connected, and inviting once complete.

Interior highlights include:

  • Three bedrooms
  • Two-and-a-half bathrooms
  • Dedicated gym with full shower
  • Built-in storm shelter (CMU block + steel door)

The breezeway connecting the home and shop is both functional and comfortable—providing airflow and shade during hot Texas afternoons.

The large back porch is ideal for entertaining, with space for seating, grilling, and enjoying wide views of the property.

The entire structure is air-sealed and built with proper drainage, gutters, and waterproofing details to protect against the elements—small details that make a big difference.

This design was created by Stacy Lynn of The Barndominium Company, bringing together both beauty and practicality.

Together, we’ve turned a set of plans into a structure that’s as strong as it is visually striking.

Whether you’re planning your own build or just enjoy seeing the process, this walkthrough gives you a behind-the-scenes look at every stage—from framing to finishes.

If you’re considering a barndominium, hybrid steel frame, or post frame home, this project shows what’s possible with the right team and system.

Be sure to subscribe for more updates, design tours, and full walkthroughs across Texas.

We’ll be revisiting this build once the metal panels and final details are complete—and trust us, it’s going to be incredible.

Thanks for watching, and we appreciate your support for Texas Best Construction.
