PVC Stub Support

In this episode of The Build Show, CJ Nielsen takes us live to an active jobsite during framing to break down an often-overlooked detail that makes a major difference in electrical rough-in quality: PVC electrical stub-up support. On a slab-on-grade home with no crawl space, CJ explains why conduits must be installed before the concrete pour and positioned with precision to land perfectly inside wall cavities, panels, and island spine walls. He walks through his preferred support method using Unistrut and heavy-duty clamps, highlighting the strength, adjustability, and clean alignment it provides compared to more improvised approaches. CJ also shares his “two points of contact” rule to prevent movement during the pour and keep stub-ups straight, plumb, and exactly where they need to be for an efficient, professional finish.
