MBrico Floating Tile Install at the Sports Barndominium | Texas Best Construction
Building a dream sports barndominium requires more than just a large footprint. It demands a deep understanding of hybrid steel framing and advanced waterproofing systems to ensure longevity and high performance. In this video, we take you behind the scenes of our latest project, highlighting the Mbrico tile deck system installation and the progress on our professional-grade indoor basketball court.
We start with the exterior, where Mac Metals siding and cedar soffits create a sophisticated modern farmhouse aesthetic. A key feature is the installation of heavy-duty shades designed to prevent sun glare on the court, providing an optimal playing environment at any time of day.
The core of this update focuses on the balcony overlooking the gymnasium. Because the workout facility is below, we applied a fully adhered TPO single-ply membrane roof system. On top of this, the Mbrico floating tile system is installed—an innovative porcelain tile solution with adjustable pedestals and a locking track system, offering a durable, level surface without compromising the underlying roof integrity.
Inside, the gymnasium is transformed with the addition of the professional-grade basketball floor, featuring a multi-layered construction including rubber platforms for shock absorption and two layers of plywood beneath the finished wood. We also highlight the integration of TrussCore PVC wall panels for high-impact protection and MacroAir fans for climate control.
Whether you’re interested in barndominium costs, custom metal building construction, or the technical details of a home sports facility, this update covers the critical phases of a high-end build from structure to finish.
