Kemp Barndominium Update: Charcoal Gray & Black Framed Windows | Texas Best Construction
This 2,000 square foot Kemp Barndominium project is hitting major milestones as we move from exterior framing into the critical utility rough-in phase. The single-story layout features a striking modern aesthetic with charcoal gray siding paired with black windows and black trim for a cohesive high-end look.
We have successfully completed the exterior framing and sheeting, allowing us to transition into interior details, including the protection and sealing of the stained concrete floors. In this update, we explore our specific insulation strategy, which uses closed cell spray foam on the roof lines while leaving wall areas open. This method provides electrical, plumbing, and HVAC teams clear access to complete their penetrations without cutting expensive foam later, ensuring cleaner utility installation and long-term mechanical performance.
The architectural character of this home is enhanced by a unique integrated carport with a roofline step-down design. On the back porch, we’ve incorporated a custom privacy fireplace partition that defines the outdoor living space while providing a barrier from neighboring properties. Smaller but essential details, like black aqua hose bibs, match the overall color palette of the build.
As we prepare for sheetrock, millwork, and cabinet installation, this walkthrough provides a transparent look at the hybrid steel framing system and construction sequence used by Texas Best. Whether you are researching barndominium floor plans or seeking inspiration for your own custom build, this Kemp project update offers a detailed look at high-quality barndominium construction.
