Travis Brungardt and Randy Williams walk through the wall assemblies on a current build, starting in the basement and moving above grade. Below grade, the focus is on interior insulation strategy — keeping moisture management simple and avoiding the pest and protection headaches that come with exterior foam. Upstairs, the assembly pairs two-by-eight framing with reclaimed polyiso under ZIP sheathing, landing somewhere around R-42 to R-45 total. Windows and doors round out the thermal envelope conversation, with a locally produced package hitting near R-10 on some glazing units. Air sealing targets one ACH or below, with a rain screen flagged as standard practice for exterior drying.
