Hybrid Barndominium Steel Framing Update in Kemp Texas | Texas Best Construction

This hybrid steel frame barndominium in Kemp, Texas has made huge strides since the last update, and the project is really starting to take shape.

The site received chemical injections due to soil conditions, the post-tension monolithic slab has been poured, and the steel frame is now fully standing.

In this video, Josh walks through the progress so far and explains why each step is important for the strength and performance of the home.

He covers soil recommendations, slab preparation, and the hybrid steel frame method that Texas Best Construction has used successfully for nearly a decade.

You’ll see how the wood framing will tie into the steel through the embeds set during the pour, how decorative gables and overhangs will be supported, and how the layout of this two-thousand-square-foot home — including porches and a separate parking area — is starting to come to life.

This stage is exciting because it reveals the structure in its purest form before wood framing, soffits, and finishes are added.

For anyone curious about hybrid steel frame construction, this walkthrough offers a clear and practical look at the process.
