Lydia Crowder walks through repairing a hole in an orange peel textured wall, starting with removing damaged drywall paper and knocking down high points in the surrounding texture. She explains why feathering the patch edges into existing texture matters, since a patch left too small and sharp-edged will always stand out. Lydia covers joint compound selection for different coats, taping technique for ceiling versus wall applications, and the importance of pre-filling overhead patches before taping. She also touches on spraying and knocking down texture to blend it with what's already there, plus how priming affects absorbency and drying differences between old and new material on a patched surface.
