Bryan Uhler of Pioneer Builders walks through a custom insulation solution for a utility room where limited space and varying wall dimensions require careful planning. The project combines different wall assemblies, including 2×4 and 2×6 framing, to accommodate mechanical ductwork while preserving usable room. Uhler explains how insulation thickness and R-values are selected to fit each cavity, fill remaining spaces, and help prevent convective air movement. He also discusses coordinating insulation specifications, material availability, ordering quantities, and installation logistics alongside the home's structural, thermal, and mechanical requirements.
