Bryan Uhler visits the North American headquarters of Grundfos to explore how thoughtful building design can improve energy efficiency in a demanding climate. Touring the facility, he highlights passive cooling strategies such as deep window recesses, exterior shading devices, and building orientation that help reduce solar heat gain and cooling loads. Uhler also examines on-site solar power generation, daylight harvesting systems, and advanced energy monitoring technology that tracks building performance in real time. The discussion extends to rainwater harvesting and sustainable design practices, showing how commercial buildings can combine architecture, renewable energy, and building science principles to improve efficiency, occupant comfort, and long-term environmental performance.
