Honey Hollow Barndominium | Road Build, Geotech Fabric, and Real Jobsite Problems

Day two out here at Honey Hollow, and this one didn’t start smooth. We had another truck go down on us, and if you’ve ever been in this industry, you know how frustrating that can be.

These trucks are expensive to set up and maintain, and when they go down, the whole job feels it. But that’s part of building — you keep moving, you adjust, and you figure it out.

Once we regrouped, we got back out here and focused on what matters: making sure this property is actually accessible.

Today was all about building the main road into the homesite. We shaped out the path, set culverts, brought in dirt, and laid down geotech fabric so that our gravel doesn’t just disappear into sand over time.

The goal is long-term stability, proper drainage, and preventing ruts or washouts down the line.

It took extra hours and a few reroutes to get this right, but that’s the work before the work — the part no one really sees but everything depends on.

We’re one step closer to building the Honey Hollow Barndominium, and I’m excited for where this is headed.

Thanks for following along and being part of the journey.

Make sure to subscribe and stay tuned — the build is just getting started.
