Don’t Miss These Critical Spray Foam Areas

Build Show Live 2026 Registration
Mike Conneely explains how strategic spray foam installation can address difficult areas of a home before they become inaccessible. Rather than waiting for the entire house to be ready for insulation, he focuses on steel beams and columns located within exterior walls. Closed-cell spray foam helps reduce heat transfer through the steel and limits the potential for condensation in cold weather. Mike also emphasizes coordinating insulation and framing crews so these areas are treated before sheathing and the weather-resistive barrier close them off. The approach is particularly important in high-performance construction, where careful sequencing and attention to thermal bridging are part of the building envelope.
