Black Gold Barndominium | Road to the Finish Line | Texas Best Construction

Today I’m taking you back out to the Black Gold Barndominium as we push down the final stretch and get this project ready for the finish line.

Even though it’s a misty Saturday morning and I’m still fighting off some congestion, the work doesn’t stop. We’ve put too much heart into this build to slow down now.

While Brandi is recovering and doing incredibly well, I headed north to wrap up some of the last big exterior items we’ve been tackling for a while.

The main focus today was shaping the new driveway approach, correcting drainage, adding elevations, and transforming what used to be one big parking area into a clean, intentional entrance worthy of this beautiful home.

I put the drone up first thing to map out how the new road needed to curve, where we needed to build up the base, and how to get all the water flowing away from the structure.

From there, it was hours of cutting, hauling, layering, tracking in material, and reshaping the land so the whole approach ties together naturally. It’s amazing to see how quickly things can change when the ground starts cooperating.

We’ve built a solid, thick roadbed, started defining the front yard spaces, and fixed some major drop-offs that needed attention.

Even though there’s still a lot left to do, it already feels like a totally different property. The interior is nearly ready, the exterior is coming alive, and this place is getting closer and closer to the full reveal.

It’s been a long journey, but the Black Gold Barndominium is almost ready — and this road really is the road to the finish.
