Today on The Build Show, Matt is in Dallas at the VIP Show House to showcase an innovative framing and insulation system that combines monopoly framing with continuous exterior closed-cell spray foam. At the center of this approach is the InsoFast X Bracket, a smart solution that forms overhangs and supports furring strips while keeping insulation and ventilation uninterrupted across the structure.
Working alongside builder Peter Scott of JM Scott & Sons, Ed from InsoFast, and site superintendent Kyle, Matt highlights how the assembly integrates ZIP System sheathing with two to three inches of spray foam on walls and up to four inches on the roof. This creates a seamless, monolithic barrier for air, water, and thermal control. The system also incorporates soffit and ridge venting for proper airflow and allows flexibility in cladding applications, from stucco to siding.
Beyond efficiency, the design improves resilience and construction workflow. X Brackets installed with screws provide strong resistance to wind uplift, while drainage details around windows manage water intrusion effectively. Visitors to Build Show Live (October 16–18) will be able to tour the home, see these assemblies in action, and explore how the X Bracket system advances modern building practices.
