90 MPH Winds vs. Our Custom Barndominium | Texas Best Construction

We are over in Weatherford, Texas putting in some serious work on the final cleanup stages of our beautiful blacked out #WeatherfordBarndominium project.

Before we could even get the dirt moving, we had a major storm roll through the area with intense 90 mile per hour winds and actual tornadoes touching down nearby in Paradise and Bridge, Texas.

The storm was so intense it completely ripped out the client’s custom solar panels and tore the garage doors off the house next door.

Thankfully, the neighborhood kids were able to run right over and take cover inside the concrete safe room we built into this structure.

Seeing our #Barndominium construction survive those elements with zero structural damage is a massive testament to the strength of these engineered steel builds and a huge answer to a lot of prayers.

Once the weather cleared, it was time to get to work on a massive earthmoving project.

We are debuting a brand new Diamond C tilt deck #EquipmentTrailer on the jobsite today. This engineered beam setup is absolutely incredible for hauling heavy machinery like scissor lifts and our Takeuchi skid steer without messing around with heavy ramps.

Brandon even customized it with a heavy-duty winch and a built-in chain box, making it the ultimate tool for our daily operations.

We started harvesting dirt from a high elevation bank on the front side of the property to generate well over 150 yards of material.

Our main goal is building up the massive six to seven foot drop off on the back side of the concrete foundation pad and filling in the natural settling that occurred around the newly installed septic system risers.

The process requires a lot of careful grading work with our yard bucket to avoid disturbing the natural drainage berm that controls the water flow across the property.

Just as we were getting into a perfect rhythm moving dirt to the back patio area with Jensen, disaster struck the equipment.

The rear idler bearing on the skid steer completely shattered, bringing our productivity to a grinding halt.

When it rains it pours in the construction world, but we are leaving the tooth bucket behind, punting until tomorrow, and bringing a backup machine from the shop to finish the job.

Make sure you hit that subscribe button so you do not miss the upcoming final tour video of this stunning #BlackedOutBarndominium with its massive decorative steel beams and gorgeous modern features.

We appreciate every single one of you guys tracking along with our projects.

I am Josh Helm wishing you all the absolute best. Thanks for watching #TexasBestConstruction.
