Forever Home
Forever Home | Episode 1 - Defining Forever: Multi-Family, Multi-Functional Home
On the first episode of the Build Original Series® "Forever Home", architect Steve Baczek teams up with Shoreline Builders to tackle the demolition of an outdated Cape Cod house that couldn’t meet the needs of three families living under one roof, which includes making the home accessible for family members who are wheelchair-bound and visually impaired. Demo day highlights the small, aging structure with cramped bathrooms, low ceilings, and limited storage, while also emphasizing the team’s commitment to recycling materials responsibly. From there, Steve introduces the design for a new 5,000-square-foot home built with accessibility, comfort, and long-term living in mind. The first-floor features wide circulation paths, open living spaces, and clearly defined zones, including an owner’s suite and a fully accessible suite. Upstairs and downstairs, additional suites, guest rooms, recreation spaces, and mechanical systems are thoughtfully integrated, showcasing a holistic design that balances privacy, family connection, and future-ready living. Stay tuned to capture the transformation from Demo Day to Final Walkthrough on "Forever Home".Episodes
