How to Build the Greatest Sawhorses Ever Invented
Here’s a clean rewrite with a bit more flow and polish:
---
I’ve been using the Jackass Sawhorse since late 2017, and I’ve been a fan ever since. The design was created by Ed Hunt (check it out at [jackasssawhorse.com](https://jackasssawhorse.com/)). You can either order a complete kit directly from him or, like I did, purchase the plans and source the parts locally. The hinges and rope cost me around \$15, and one roll of rope is enough to build about 20 sets.
As a framer and sider, I need sawhorses that can handle a serious load, and these have held up extremely well under heavy use. Some finish carpenters prefer to make lighter versions out of 1/2" sheathing for easier portability, but I like mine built solid and strong to stand up to the demands of the job.
